The Scientific Partners of BIOECON are pleased to announce the Twenty-Second International BIOECON Conference, wh ich will be held at the Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park, Wy oming, USA on September 30 – October 2, 2020. BIOECON XXII will be of inter est to scholars and decision-makers working on issues related to the scienc e and economics of natural resources and the environment including biodiver sity conservation. In particular, BIOECON XXII will highlight the integrati on of natural science and social science, including economics, for conservi ng biodiversity and managing natural resources.
Keynote presentations will be delivered by Carolyn Fischer (Resources for the Future) on “Who’s afraid of the WTO? Environmental disputes and trade in natural resources,” and Simon Levin (Princeton University) on “Public goods, from microbes to h uman societies.”
We invite paper submissions to BIOECON XXII related to the main conference theme, “Integrating social and natural science for c onserving biodiversity,” as well as a wider range of biodiversity, economic s, and conservation topics including (but not limited to): • Behavioral and experimental economics for natural resource management • Linkages between biodiversity protection and climate policy • Economics and ecology of seaso nal migratory species conservation • Economic and environmental impacts of the transition to renewable energy • The demand for nature tourism and pros pects for the outdoor recreation economy • Political economy of natural res ource and environmental policies • Incentive-based policies for biodiversit y protection • Experimental, quasi-experimental, and observational methods for evaluating and designing biodiversity protection programs • The non-mar ket benefits and opportunity costs of protecting biodiversity for the provi sion of ecosystem services • Using real-time remote sensing data for adapti ve natural resource management

The conference will com mence with a reception in the early evening of Wednesday September 30. Conf erence sessions will begin in the morning of October 1 and conclude in the afternoon of October 2. Organized group tours of Grand Teton National Park and surrounding areas will be offered immediately before and after the conf erence.
Papers may be submitted for presentation to bioecon@bioecon-n etwork.org no later than May 15, 2020. Only complete papers will be conside red by the scientific programme committee. Please include an Abstract of 15 0 words or less and Keywords with your submission. Unfortunately late paper s cannot be considered. It also is possible to submit 3-4 papers together a s a suggested session under one of the topics indicated above or an alterna tive topic. The Scientific Partners reserve the right to accept papers on a n individual basis, so even if a session proposal is not successful, indivi dual papers within the session could be accepted. Authors of accepted paper s will be notified by email no later than June 15, 2020.
Selected pre senters will be invited to register one presenter for the conference at the “invited presenter” rate. The invited presenter rate consists of a $250 re gistration fee that will cover the costs of 2 nights accommodation, recepti on, lunches, and conference banquet. Additional guests may be registered fo r lunch ($45 per person) or the conference banquet ($65 per person). There is a $400 registration fee for all other participants that will include the banquet, lunches and refreshments, but not accommodation. There is a $250 registration fee for day-participants, which includes lunches and refreshme nts but not lodging or the conference banquet. All questions regarding fees , registrations, and accommodation should be sent to bioecon@bioecon-networ k.org. Registrations will open on June 15, 2020. Registrations for conferen ce presenters are due by July 15, 2020.
