Category: Awards & Nominations

The European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) is delighted to announce the inauguration of its EAERE Fellows Programme. The EAERE Fellows Programme was instituted to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of environmental and resource economics. EAERE Fellows must have contributed to the advancement of the profession of environmental and resource economists through outstanding publications, and/or important roles in the policy word, and/or important roles in the Association’s governance and/or activities.

The EAERE Fellowship is awarded by the EAERE Council once a year, following the recommendation of a Nominating Committee appointed by the EAERE Board of Country Representatives. The members of the Nominating Committee for the 2019 EAERE Fellows are Phoebe Koundouri (chair), Timo Goeschl, and Thomas Sterner.

All EAERE members are invited to send proposals of EAERE Fellowship. A new EAERE Fellow must be living at the time of nomination. Membership in EAERE is not required. Proposals are to be submitted to [email protected] by January 10th, 2019, with "EAERE Fellow” in the subject line. The proposal should include: (1) a curriculum-vitae of the nominee, (2) a two-page proposal letter outlining what contributions the nominee has made that warrant the recognition, and (3) at least one additional letter of support from a second individual.

The Nominating Committee will evaluate nominations received and will submit a proposal to the EAERE Council. The Nominating Committee can also propose Fellows on its own. The Council decides on the EAERE Fellows (normally max 2 per year) based on the Nominating Committee’s proposal.
