AERE Organized Sessions

AERE organizes scholarly sessions and related social events in conjunction with several major economics conferences each year: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, Allied Social Science Associations/American Economic Association, Eastern Economics Association, Midwest Economics Association, Southern Economic Association, and Western Economic Association International.

AERE @ the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA)

AERE organizes 2-4 sessions at the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) Annual Conference. 

  • July 25-27, 2027 • Philadelphia, PA

    • Submit your abstract (October 15 - November 15): The AERE @ AAEA committee is seeking complete track session proposals for the 2027 meetings. Track sessions are 90 minutes with two typical formats: (1) four research papers with discussants and a moderator or (2) a panel of experts with a moderator. If you have a session proposal, please submit the following information via email to Simanti Banjeree ([email protected]) by November 15, 2026:
      • Session title
      • Session description (140 words max), including the proposed format
      • Four research paper titles with presenter contact information or the list of panelists with contact information
      • Names of potential discussants and moderator

AERE @ the Allied Social Sciences Associations (ASSA)

AERE sponsors nine sessions and convenes a related social event at the Allied Social Sciences Associations (ASSA) Annual Meeting, which is organized by the American Economic Association (AEA) in conjunction with more than 50 related associations.

    • Abstract Submission Guidelines: Presenting authors may submit up to two abstracts, with a 300-word limit per abstract. Please suggest a minimum of two potential discussants for your paper. In addition to individual submissions, organized sessions with four papers and four discussants are welcome.
    • Submit your abstract (March 1 - April 15) (The deadline is firm.)

AERE @ the Eastern Economics Association (EEA)

AERE organizes up to four sessions at the Eastern Economics Association (EEA) Annual Conference. 

AERE @ the Midwest Economics Association (MEA)

AERE organizes 8-10 sessions with up to four dozen research papers at the Midwest Economics Association (MEA) Annual Conference.

AERE @ the Southern Economic Association (SEA)

AERE organizes more than 20 sessions, featuring approximately 100 research papers, at the Southern Economic Association (SEA) Annual Conference.

AERE typically organizes up to 15 sessions, featuring approximately 60 research papers, at the Western Economic Association International (WEAI) Annual Conference.
