Advancing the Field

AERE provides many forums for sharing research, exchanging ideas, and advancing the practice of environmental and resource economics.

AERE oversees two flagship journals, the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (JAERE) and the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy (REEP).

AERE also offers members a variety of opportunities to present their research at meetings and workshops. AERE hosts the AERE Summer Conference, which takes place in late May or early June in venues across the U.S., and co-sponsors the World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists, held every four years. AERE also hosts the AERE Fall Workshop, held online in September or October each year. In addition, AERE organizes sessions at the annual meetings of the following organizations:

AERE also hosts OSWEET sessions online—originally founded as the Online Summer Workshop in Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Economics—which continue to provide a virtual forum for sharing research and building community.

AERE maintains affiliations with the American Economic Association (AEA), the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA), and fellow members of the World Council of Environmental and Resource Economics Associations.
