REEP Editor - Call for Expressions of Interest
Tuesday, February 15, 2022
Category: AERE Miscellaneous

AERE and EAERE’s official journal to bridge the gap between research and the general interest press, the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy (REEP), will have an opening in the position of editor beginning on January 1, 2023. REEP aims to provide a widely accessible, yet scholarly, source for the latest thinking on environmental economics and related policy. The Review, which is published by University of Chicago Press, produces two issues per year that reflect a range of material including symposia, articles, and regular features. REEP is consistently ranked in the top 20 of all economics journals and top 15 of all environmental studies journals in terms of impact factors.

The editor’s work includes evaluating proposals for commissioned papers and symposia, independently soliciting authors for symposia and commissioned papers, inviting reviewers, and making final decisions. The editor works with three co-editors who provide support and advice, two features editors who independently manage the content of the features section of the journal, and a managing editor who provides detailed editorial advice to authors. Candidate editors should be talented, experienced, and diligent as well as knowledgeable about the interface between economics and environmental policy and dedicated to the continued quality of REEP and to serving the profession.

The AERE and EAERE Boards of Directors invite persons interested in becoming the next editor of REEP to submit a statement of interest and an up-to-date CV to AERE President Karen Palmer at [email protected] (Subject line: REEP Editor) by February 15, 2022. We welcome nominations of others as well as self-nominations. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee that includes both AERE and EAERE Board members with final selection made by the AERE Board of Directors. A new editor will be selected by May 1, 2022, and the transition from the current editor to the new editor will take place starting in shortly thereafter through the end of the 2022.
