AERE hosted a two-day Fall Virtual Workshop examining the intersection of climate-driven weather extremes, natural disasters, and insurance markets. Organized by Margaret Walls and Will Wheeler, the workshop brought together researchers and policy experts to explore emerging challenges and policy-relevant research in this rapidly evolving area.

The program featured keynote remarks from Carolyn Kousky and included sessions on risk modeling, insurance market design, wildfire and flood hazards, and the role of government in resilience and recovery. Through focused discussions and research presentations, participants engaged with current evidence and policy questions shaping disaster risk management and insurance markets.
